Logo design
The Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Dennis Publishing commissioned me to come up with a new design for their logo, following a failed attempt from another designer. Being the second professional to attempt the brief certainly added more than the usual pressure.
The logo the client had in place was regarded as relatively dated and quite far off-brand, so my aim for the re-design was to produce something more in line with the publisher's image. Starting with the overarching Dennis logo I could inform my design by colour, theme and general composition. Switching the oval to a negative inversion of the 'Dennis' text freed up space allowing me to incorporate a circle to house the remaining letterforms, without unbalancing the composition.
The client was very pleased with this final result and the logo has already been widely used across the CSR publicity.
